Rose
has been drawing, painting, designing and creating fashion professionally
since May of 1998 when she released her first commercial designs
and launched her self-titled label. She has contributed as an artist,
consultant and show coordinator on numerous occasions throughout
her career, most recently specializing in custom fashions for touring
musicians and working with independent films. Over the last ten
years Rose has released countless designs, streamlining the current
selection to reflect a variety of ideas from past and present inspirations.
Music remains her most essential inspiration, which has resulted
in designs heavily influenced by both music and musicians from ages
past and present.
In
addition to Rose's fashion design work, she is also a long-time
alternative music promoter, having assisted in facilitating US tours
for some of Europe's leading underground artists and working extensively
to promote US and non-US based musicians both at home and abroad.

PRESS
RELEASE: The new Rose Mortem line (release date:
March 2008) reflects Rose's love for the aesthetics of ritual and
Christendom while also paying homage to the immortal essence of
gothic rock. The men's line (modeled by none other than South Africa's
own legendary indie musician, the exquisite Ashton
Nyte) is heavily inspired by liturgical dress yet incorporates
the classic Rose Mortem velvets, satins and silvers for a priestly
yet entirely otherworldly essence. Her women's releases are fresh
from a Tim Burton fantasy: ballerina cut bodices paired with the
macabre drama of ripped netting, jagged layered hemlines, and gossamer
fabrics all adorned with a few tasteful black ribbons. These are
the designs one expects to see on the dancefloor when Bauhaus graces
the monitors - theatrical, entrancing, and always classically gothic.
